How I work with Agents
Thorsten Ball's 16 rules for working with coding agents as of October 2026. Use only the newest models; describe what you want, not how. Give agents tools to see the whole development cycle (logs, deploys, bug reports). Ask for hard proof: end-to-end walkthroughs, demo videos, before/after numbers. Hand over bigger tasks and work async with scheduled check-ins, stop managing context by hand, and review only high-risk code such as database migrations.
