FAQ
How do you decide who is one person?▾
We use the YouTube channel ID, not the display name. Two accounts with the same name are still two people; one person typing under multiple comments is one entry.
Can someone game it by posting 100 times?▾
Not with the default 'one entry per user' mode. If you switch to 'one entry per comment', then yes — that's the trade-off, useful when engagement is what you're rewarding.
What is a 'seeded draw'?▾
Type any text into the seed field and the random pick becomes reproducible. Show the seed during your livestream, anyone watching can rerun the same draw later and verify you didn't cheat.
Why are some videos returning no comments?▾
The video owner can disable comments, or the video could be age-restricted. The tool surfaces the YouTube error directly when that happens.
Twitter / X support?▾
Coming later. X's API for fetching replies is paid-only as of 2026, so it needs a different cost model. For now this tool is YouTube-only.
Where do my fetched comments go?▾
Nowhere persistent. They live only in your browser tab. We do not store the comment dataset, the winner pick, or your seed.
